A collaborative portrait project for creative professionals.

I’m planning a series of relaxed studio portrait sessions at my private studio in Heslington, York, designed for people working within the creative and wedding industries - photographers, planners, designers, stylists, florists, HMUA artists, and creatives connected to the wedding industry.

This isn’t about stiff headshots or overly polished branding imagery.

It’s about creating thoughtful, editorial portraits that feel like you - images you can confidently use across your website, press features, and professional platforms.

The Concept

These sessions are intentionally simple and unhurried.

Each portrait is created in a calm studio setting, with space to ease in, experiment, and be photographed in a way that feels natural rather than performative. The aim is to make portraits that sit somewhere between personal and professional - elevated, honest, and timeless.

This project is also about connection. Photographing people within the industry I work in, building relationships, and creating something mutually valuable.

This is something I’d love to grow into a recurring creative project.

A note on experience & approach

Before focusing on weddings, my background is rooted in portrait photography, working with individuals across creative and commercial contexts.

That experience shapes how I photograph people today - with a strong emphasis on presence, subtle direction, and creating images that feel composed without feeling forced.

This studio project brings that portrait-led approach into the wedding and creative industries: applying editorial sensibility, careful light, and an intuitive, people-first process to portraits made specifically for industry professionals.

The example images shown here reflect that wider portrait practice. While they were not created with this project in mind, they represent the tone, style, and approach I’ll be bringing into these sessions.
